Description:
Centered around the 10,000-acre lake, Lake Meredith National Recreation Area is a haven for outdoor activities of all types. Boating and fishing are two of the most popular, with fish yields including bass, catfish, crappie, trout and walleye. Limited hunting is also allowed in the area during the appropriate season. There are multiple campsites scattered throughout the park, creating a sense of quiet and solitude even in such a popular park. The recreation area sits west of the town of Fritch about 40 miles north of Amarillo.
